Senior Services

We provide care that heals and comforts our patients. To do this, we must understand the unique needs and desires of the people we serve. Our senior services are designed around this philosophy.

Older people often face complex and interrelated health issues. Many of our nurses and doctors have specialized geriatric training to better serve seniors. Our hospitals offer advanced treatments and facilities geared toward serving older people, such as the Senior ER at Lutheran Medical Center, which was the first senior emergency room in Colorado.

Across our range of programs and services for seniors, you’ll find a commitment to wellness that enhances and transcends medical treatment. Whether it’s healthy aging programs, care for chronic illnesses, transitioning into long-term care or taking part in volunteer groups, our focus on whole-person health will nourish the physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being of seniors in our community.

Conditions affecting seniors

There are a number of conditions that particularly affect older adults, including:

  • Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Cataracts
  • Dementia
  • Depression (and other psychosocial factors)
  • Glaucoma
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Stroke (Brain Attack)

We can help treat seniors with these and many other conditions.
