E-visits

An e-visit is the most convenient way to get quick, affordable care for common health issues, like allergies, rashes and pink eye. Just like when you come into your doctor’s office, we will ask different questions based on your symptoms and condition.

A care provider will review and respond to your e-visit within two hours after you submit your answers. You will discuss your diagnosis and treatment plan with your care provider via the MyChart patient portal.

Who can have an e-visit?

Anyone who is in the state of Colorado or Montana and is over the age of 18 can use e-visits to receive care for common health issues.

Who is responding to my e-visit?

Our experienced and caring SCL Health providers will provide you with a personalized diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to your symptoms and condition. Your visit details will be added to your MyChart records for your primary care doctor to see.

What about the cost, payment methods and my insurance?

The cost for diagnosis and treatment is $35. You will only be charged if we can treat your condition. For payment, you will be prompted to enter your debit or credit card information. If you have a health savings account (HSA) card, you can submit that card number during payment at checkout. You will receive a receipt after your credit card has been charged. If prescriptions are needed, you will pay for those at the pharmacy.

If you believe this service is covered by your insurance plan, you may submit a claim to your insurance company to pursue reimbursement. Be aware that if this is not a covered service, the cost you pay during check-out will not count towards your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. This service is not covered by Medicare or Medicaid.

How long does an e-visit take?

An e-visit typically takes about five to 10 minutes to complete.

How do I initiate an e-visit?

If you already have a MyChart account with SCL Health, you can sign in to your account to start your e-visit. If you do not already have an SCL Health Mychart account, you will need to create one before your e-visit. After you submit your information in MyChart, you will receive an email within about 15 minutes that lets you know your MyChart account is active and you can then begin your e-visit.

Can I get prescriptions through an e-visit?

Yes, if needed, your provider can order prescription medications for you and send them directly to the pharmacy of your choice.

What kind of technology do I need to have an e-visit?

Our technology supports most of the common web browsers. For desktops and laptops, we support the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer 10+. On mobile devices, we support the latest versions of Safari and Android Chrome.

For some conditions, we may want to see a picture to help us understand what is going on. If needed, you can upload pictures from your mobile device or your computer to our secure MyChart portal.

What if a provider cannot diagnose and treat me with an e-visit?

If your condition requires in-person diagnosis or treatment, we’ll follow up with you directly to discuss other options for care. You will only be charged if a provider can treat your condition.
