For the second year in a row, St. Vincent Healthcare is the only hospital in the region to receive a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

CMS assigns star ratings to more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide based on their performance across seven quality areas: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care and efficient use of medical imaging. In 2020, 407 hospitals throughout the nation received a rating of five stars from CMS.

St. Vincent Healthcare is the only hospital in Montana to be recognized as one of this year’s 100 Top Hospitals by IBM Watson Health.

IBM Watson Health identified the top hospitals from a rigorous evaluation of 3,134 short-term, acute care, non-federal hospitals in the U.S. The annual list recognizes excellence in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health. This is the third time in the last five years St. Vincent has been recognized as one of the top performing hospitals in the U.S.

St. Vincent Healthcare was awarded an ‘A’ in Fall 2020 from Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing St. Vincent’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality health care to patients.

St. Vincent was one of only two hospitals in Montana and the only hospital in Billings to receive an ‘A’ grade for the Fall 2020 update. This marks St. Vincent’s fifth consecutive ‘A’ grade from Leapfrog.
