An accurate diagnosis is important to successfully treat a neurological condition. Our specialists evaluate, diagnose, treat and help manage conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord and nervous system.
Diagnostic screenings and procedures
Doctors often recommend testing to evaluate neurologic symptoms. Our neurologists, nurses and specially trained technicians will ensure that you are as comfortable as possible throughout each test.
Most diagnostic testing begins with an analysis of blood, urine or other fluids, such as bone marrow or spinal fluid. These tests help diagnose conditions and determine overall health. They also help us monitor the effectiveness of medications during treatment.
Lumbar puncture (LP)
When spinal fluid is drawn for testing, it’s called a lumbar puncture or spinal tap. During this outpatient procedure, we’ll numb your lower back and draw a small amount of fluid for testing from your spinal column.
