Groups
Extended Outpatient
Extended Outpatient program is designed for individuals who have experienced co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders and are working towards sustained recovery. This eight week group therapy program focuses on relapse prevention, improving daily coping skills, and increased functioning.
Offering an eight week rotating curriculum that utilizes multiple therapeutic modalities, this program allows individuals the opportunity to re-enroll each session with new skills and materials presented every two months.
This program features:
- A structured and safe therapeutic environment
- A supportive group format that reduces feelings of isolation and hopelessness
- Mindfulness skills training
- Cognitive behavioral therapy
- Experiential and expressive arts activities
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Dialectal behavioral therapy
- Communication skills training

Multifamily Group
Multifamily Group therapy is designed for people experiencing addiction and their families. Multifamily Group allows families to learn from one another and draw on their own experiences to support each other. This form of therapy removes the sense of isolation some families may feel in recovery. Families meet weekly to discuss varying topics, allowing them to gain valuable insight into their own actions and behaviors, while simultaneously gaining valuable education about addiction.
This program features:
- A structured and safe therapeutic environment
- A supportive group format that reduces feelings of isolation
- Psychoeducation
- Communication skills training
- Problem solving
- Boundary setting
- Mindfulness skills training
- Relapse prevention

Classes
St. Mary’s Addiction Medicine Clinic and Behavioral Health offers occasional education nights and luncheons on addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Education on topics such as crisis management, illness education, emotion regulation and communication skills are essential in the management of substance use disorders.
