Maternity Care (Obstetrics) Fellowship

Our program offers excellent high risk and surgical obstetric training and the opportunity to practice full spectrum family medicine with a varied patient population encompassing both urban underserved and insured patients. We design significant flexibility in our fellowship schedule, which allows the fellow to customize their experience in preparation for their future career. Additional program highlights include the following:

Diverse Longitudinal Curriculum

  • Inpatient and outpatient high-risk OB care, including: preeclampsia, gestational and pre-existing diabetes, preterm labor/PPROM, TOLAC/VBAC, postpartum hemorrhage, chronic medical conditions in pregnancy, etc.
  • Continued inpatient and outpatient family medicine experience, including coverage of the inpatient family medicine service and outpatient continuity clinic

High Volume Procedural Experience

  • Cesarean Section: 120+
  • Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery: 60+
  • Operative Vaginal Delivery: 5-10+
  • Obstetric Ultrasound: 150+

Junior Faculty Position

  • Opportunity to precept residents in our outpatient family medicine clinic and on the inpatient family medicine team
  • Involvement in process and quality improvement
  • Opportunity for faculty development
  • Opportunity for teaching within traditional didactics schedule and simulation lab

We accept applications annually July 1st through July 31st, and conduct interviews in early to mid-September. We offer one fellowship position each year.

  2. Two letters of recommendation (one of which must be from your program director)
  3. Personal statement describing your interest in the program and future career goals
  4. Procedure log from residency (including vaginal deliveries, c-sections, other obstetric procedures, ultrasound, and all non-OB inpatient and outpatient procedures)
  5. USMLE or NBOME official transcript
