Thoracic Conditions

Thoracic surgery is surgery on the chest cavity. The lungs and ribs, diaphragm, structures around the heart (not involving the heart directly), the upper spine, or other surrounding organs can be treated during this surgical procedure. Thoracic surgery may help treat lung cancer as well as non-cancerous conditions in the chest including infection, tissue biopsy, injury to the ribs or lungs, collapsed lung, or even for surgery on the upper spine.
