Good Samaritan Medical Center has earned a 5-star rating when it comes to patient experience as reported by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Other SCL Health hospitals that have been recognized include Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, and St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.

Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

Good Samaritan Medical Center is proud to have received an 'A' grade in Spring 2021 from the Leapfrog Group for Hospital Safety. The Leapfrog Group is a Washington D.C. based organization aiming to improve healthcare quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. The Leapfrog Group assigns letter grades based on numerous health care quality measures.

Baby Friendly 

Baby-Friendly Hospitals

Good Samaritan Medical Center, Saint Joseph Hospital and Lutheran Medical Center are all designated Baby-Friendly under the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The initiative encourages and recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding mothers and their babies. Based on the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, this international award recognizes birth facilities that offer mothers the information, confidence, and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies or safely feed with formula.

American College of Cardiology: Chest Pain - MI Registry™ 2020 Performance Achievement Awards

Good Samaritan Medical Center is proud to have received multiple Chest Pain - MI Registry™  awards in 2020 from the American College of Cardiology. This award program was created by the American College of Cardiology to recognize hospitals that have top-level performance in their care of patients while adhering to their specific guideline recommendations.  American Heart Association Gold PLus

American Heart Association Recognition

The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognized Good Samaritan Medical Center, Lutheran Medical Center, Saint Joseph Hospital, Platte Valley Medical Center, and St. Mary's Medical Center with Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award in 2018 for its continued success following guidelines to speed recovery and reduce death and disability for stroke patients.

Epic Honor Roll recognizes organizations that implement best practices through Epic that certifies excellence in quality of care, patient outcomes, workflow efficiency, and financial performance. SCL Health is 1 of 82 health systems to be recognized with Cum Laude status, the highest designation in the program. 


CHIME's Most Wired

SCL Health has been recognized by The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Digital Health Most Wired recognition certified as level 9, receiving the Performance Excellence Award. CHIME describes level 9-10 as "leaders in healthcare technology who actively push the industry forward." A total of 30,135 organizations were represented in the 2020 Digital Health Most Wired program, which included four separate surveys: domestic, ambulatory, long-term care, and international.
