Healthgrades America's 50 Best Hospitals™
SCL Health received recognition for having three of the best hospitals in the nation. Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and Good Samaritan Medical Center were each named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals™ by Healthgrades in 2019, placing them in the top 1% of hospitals in the nation for providing overall clinical excellence across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures.
Truven Health Analytics 100 Top Hospitals®
In 2016 and 2017, St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Montana, was named to this prestigious national award that honors hospitals that excel in patient care, operational efficiency, financial stability and the patient perception of care.
Top Rural Hospitals
In 2017, iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health recognized St. James Healthcare in Butte, Montana, as a Top 20 Rural and Community Hospital, and in 2018, as a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital. In 2017 and 2018, Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, Montana, was recognized as one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals. Both hospitals achieved the awards based on the industry’s most comprehensive rating of rural providers in the United States.
Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, Colorado, Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, are all designated Baby-Friendly under the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The initiative encourages and recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding mothers and their babies. Based on the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, this international award recognizes birth facilities that offer mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies or safely feed with formula.
National Fierce Innovation Award Winner
Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, was named a winner in the Fierce Innovation Awards: Healthcare Edition 2017, an awards program from the publisher of FierceHealthcare. The hospital was recognized for use of its innovative, industry-leading product, Biovigil, a hand-hygiene monitoring system.
Improving patient care and outcomes for stroke
The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognized Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, Colorado, with the Get with the Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award in 2017 for its continued success following guidelines to speed recovery and reduce death and disability for stroke patients. AHA/ASA recognized Lutheran Medical Center with the 2019 GWTG Stroke Gold Plus Target Elite Plus Honor Roll.
Excellence in intensive care
The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) has recognized the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) at Lutheran Medical Center, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, with Silver Beacon Awards for Excellence. The Intermediate Care Unit and Cardiovascular Intensive Care units at St. Mary’s Medical Center also received Silver Beacon Awards.
SCL Health among the nation’s “Most Wired”
In 2017, SCL Health was named one of the Most Wired health systems in the country by Hospitals & Health Networks, a publication of the American Hospital Association. The list designates the hospitals and health systems that have shown the greatest level of IT adoption across both clinical and business systems.
