The Leapfrog Group is a Washington D.C.-based organization aiming to improve healthcare quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. The Leapfrog Group assigns letter grades based on numerous health care quality measures. Other SCL Health hospitals to receive an “A” grade include Lutheran Medical Center, Saint Joseph Hospital, Platte Valley Medical Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and St. Vincent Healthcare.

Magnet AccreditationGood Samaritan received accreditation from the prestigious Magnet Recognition Program® in August 2022. Magnet Accreditation is the nation’s top honor for nursing excellence, quality patient care, and innovations in practice. Only 9.4% of U.S. hospitals have achieved this designation. Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado also received accreditation from the Magnet Recognition Program® in May 2017 and was re-accredited in 2022. St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado received accreditation in January 2022, St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Montana received accreditation in September 2021, and Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado received accreditation in September 2020. |

Baby-Friendly HospitalsLutheran Medical Center, Saint Joseph Hospital, Good Samaritan Medical Center and St. Vincent Healthcare are all designated Baby-Friendly under the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The initiative encourages and recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding mothers and their babies. Based on the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, this international award recognizes birth facilities that offer mothers the information, confidence, and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies or safely feed with formula.

U.S. News & World Report - Best Hospitals For MaternityGood Samaritan Medical Center has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top maternity hospitals in the country. According to the ‘Best Hospitals for Maternity’ list published by U.S. News & World Report, four SCL Health Colorado hospitals were deemed “high-performing” in maternity care. The list compared high-quality labor and delivery services for uncomplicated pregnancies. Out of 2,700 hospitals nationwide that offer maternity services, U.S. News & World Report identified 237 that earned recognition among the ‘Best Hospitals for Maternity.’ |
