Birth Center of Denver experience
Providing a high-touch, low tech approach to childbirth, Birth Center of Denver empowers you and your family to bring your customized birth plans to life in a beautiful home-like setting. We provide personalized care that helps to ensure the best possible experience for you and your family. From your first visit with us through the birth of your baby and beyond, our focus is to offer you guidance and support by providing a strong foundation of education and information to help you make the best choices for your care. The first of its kind in Colorado, our center is owned by Saint Joseph Hospital, so if a higher level of care is ever necessary, Colorado’s top baby hospital is always close by.
We trust in the body and the birth process
The birth center model honors pregnancy and childbirth as a healthy and normal part of life. Birth Center of Denver offers customized care and many choices to fit your philosophy of low-risk pregnancy and an unmedicated birth, including water births. Our beautiful birth suites create a spacious home-like environment including a comfortable area for families. From hydrotherapy to alternate methods of pain management, you can create your birth preferences to further personalize your care. Our comprehensive model of care means that if there’s ever a need to transfer to a higher level of care, our Certified Nurse-Midwives are credentialed through Saint Joseph Hospital and will assist with the transition, so there’s no interruption of care. We also share the same medical records system with the hospital, which ensures that your medical records transfer seamlessly as well. We also have OB-GYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians available to consult with 24 hours a day, if something more unexpected comes up.
How to Enroll
Schedule a Talk and Tour
Come see what Birth Center of Denver is all about! All first-time prospective pregnancy clients are required to attend an orientation session prior to making your first appointment. At our orientation, you will learn about our approach to your pregnancy care, natural birth, water birth, and overall midwifery care in our birth center. We will review risk factors that may prevent giving birth at the birth center. You will also have the chance to take a tour of our birth center, ask questions and discover if Birth Center of Denver is right for you.
Once you have completed the talk and tour, we will have you complete an information sheet letting us know that you would like to enroll your care with us. If you have been seeing another OB provider and would like to transfer your care to us, we will review your records first in order to ensure that you do not have any risk factors with your current pregnancy. If you are eligible to transfer, we accept transfers up to 32 weeks.
