Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, Dr. Markus Wettstein moved to the United States in 1989. From an early age he knew he wanted a career that would allow him to give back to people. He received his undergraduate degree in Texas from Austin College and his medical degree from Ross University in Florida. He then spent four years as an internal medicine resident at Norwalk Hospital and Danbury Hospital in Connecticut.
Dr. Wettstein is board certified in Endocrinology. In addition to his endocrinology practice he is working to establish a Diabetes Center on the Western Slope.
"My work revolves around giving patients the understanding and tools to work with their disease. Shared decision making is critical for the patient to successfully treat their illness."
Dr. Wettstein was drawn to Grand Junction and the healthy and active lifestyle of its residents. He enjoys mountain biking and skiing.
