Dr. Miller graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, and completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas where he also served as chief resident. He completed his residency training in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque and again served as chief resident. In 1997, he moved to Denver and joined his colleagues at Front Range Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, PC. Dr. Miller specializes in Minimally Invasive Surgery
Dr. Miller is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He serves as the Medical Director of the Cardiac & Vascular Institute at Saint Joseph Hospital and was past Chair for the Cardiac Section at SJH. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery. He has been named as "Top Doctor" in Cardiac Surgery by his peers in Denver's 5280 Magazine.
In addition to performing all types of traditional open-heart surgeries, Dr. Miller has extensive experience and expertise in Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery. Recognized by his peers as a leader for minimally invasive heart surgeries in Denver’s medical community, Dr. Miller specializes in the surgical treatment of Aortic, Mitral, and Tricuspid Valve repairs and replacements, certain types of tumors (Myxomas), Atrial Septal Defects (ASD), and Atrial Fibrillation Surgery, all through a minimally invasive approach.
