Ellen is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, followed by a master’s degree in nursing from the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee. Ellen is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner as well as a certified diabetes educator. Most recently, she worked as a diabetes educator for Saint Joseph Hospital.

Ellen’s areas of clinical interest include Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as Cystic Fibrosis related diabetes.
When she is not at work, Ellen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys running, hiking, and camping.
