Dr. Kohli was raised in Denver, Colorado, and she is happy to be back to her hometown after attending the country’s foremost institutions for her medical training. For undergraduate training, she attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she finished at the top of her class, and earned two bachelor’s degrees – one in biology and one in brain & cognitive science along with a concentration in economics. She then received her medical degree with the magna cum laude distinction from Harvard Medical School.
Following her internal medicine residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Dr. Kohli completed a research fellowship at the Harvard Medical School Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction Study Group, a leading academic research organization. During this time, she authored several dozen publications on cardiovascular risk stratification, disease prevention and treatment and became a nationally recognized rising star in the world of cardiovascular research. She then completed a clinical fellowship in cardiology at the University of California San Francisco followed by advanced fellowship training in both cardiovascular disease prevention and echocardiography, also at UCSF, before returning home to Denver to practice.
Dr. Kohli believes, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” She is passionate about cardiovascular disease prevention, especially in women, and hopes to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease presentation, diagnosis and treatment in women.
When she is not at work, Dr. Kohli enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer. She loves going up to the mountains and being surrounded by the beautiful nature.
