I've been too this office twice and have only seen this doctor twice. Last year I saw him for a cardiovascular isssue that my primary care doctor was unsure about. He didn't seem concerned in that time and I kind of took his side since my symptoms had resolved by the time I got an appointment with him. But I didn't like that he didn't seem interested or even seemed to somewhat care, which I believe had most to do with my age. This time around my doctor sent me again but wanted an echo done mostly due to chest pain upon excertion and me getting surgery done. She wanted to make sure that the surgery would be safe. I was also having additional symptoms such as tachycardia at rest, and blood pressures that were not consistent and would drop upon standing and cause symptoms such as extreme dizziness, even though they were not consistent with text book orthostatics. She initially suggested a different doctor due to my last experience but I figured it would be fine to see him since I kind of agreed with him the first time, regardless of his hospitality. Well, this last visit was extremely pointless. My doctor had sent over lab work, an ekg, and the order for an echo and he ignored it. They did my ekg, and he literally came in after the tech was done and tried to get rid of me telling me my ekg was normal. Which it always is, hence why my doctor wanted the echo. I felt rushed and when I did ask any questions, he seemed annoyed and offended by it. It was awkward and felt as if I was impeding on his time. I was in that room less than 10 minutes from the start of the ekg to him rushing me out. Condensending for sure. My doctor ended up having to go around him and scheduled an echo regardless of his opinion. I believe Dr. Gurdin acted in this manner mostly due to my age (or maybe he's always like this) however regardless of what he thinks, he also seemed to not even read my chart or know anything about me. Except that he probably thinks I'm a hypochondriac. I work as a Paramedic, and while I have no where the experience or knowledge of a cardiovascular doctor, he has poor customer service and hospitality. I think my last visit was extremely important due to me needing surgery and needing to know if my heart is able to handle the stress of it, regardless of an ekg being normal. As a cardiovascular doctor, he should know that ekgs can only read the electrical components of the heart and can't look at every single component. Its just a piece of a puzzle. And more importantly, the patient should be treated, not the monitor. You can have a patient with chest pain and a perfect ekg, but having an MI. He should leave his ego at the door. I would never return to him or recommend anyone to him. Even if there is nothing wrong with me at the end of the day, he could have handled the situation better.

I was not a new patient but had not seen this Doctor before. I was nervous at first but he was very friendly and so nice I was very comfortable and don't mind continuing to have him as my primary doctor at the facility. I highly recommend him. the clerical staff also had good things to say about him before I had even gotten into the exam room. the clerical staff was also very nice and helpful with greetings, directions in filing out paperwork and the process.
