In this fun and interactive class you will learn the Lamaze healthy birth practices that are supported by research that examines the benefits and risks of maternity care practices.  These practices represent the best things a mother can do to ensure positive, healthy birth outcomes for both she and her baby.  This class is taught by our area’s only Lamaze-certified instructor and is offered to you free as our commitment to providing quality care for you and your family.  The Saturday class includes a tour of Labor and Delivery.

Registration Instructions:

When registering for class, you only have to register ONE parent.  We will consider each registration to be both parents in attendance.  

Thank you for registering for the upcoming Lamaze Class.  You have taken the first steps to having the best pregnancy, birth and early parenting experiences!  Lamaze is no longer just about breathing; it is about taking the mystery out of childbirth and giving you the confidence to labor your way.  In this fun and interactive class you will learn "The 6 Lamaze Healthy Birth Practices" that are supported by research that examine the benefits and risks of maternity care practices.  These practices represent the best things you can do to ensure positive, health birth outcomes for both you and your baby. 

Saturday Lamaze Class - This class is perfect for women and their support person to attend (please still attend if you do not have anyone to attend with you).  We cover all the topics a new mom should know before birth.  Returning moms are welcome to attend this class if they would like a refresher of what to expect.

Class size is limited so please email me to cancel if you are unable to attend.  We currently have a waiting list to attend this class.

When should I come to class?
You are welcome to attend Lamaze at any time during your pregnancy, but it may be best to come somewhere between the end of the second trimester to the beginning of the third trimester.  

What should I bring to class?
Please bring you and your support person and wear comfortable clothing.  You will also want to bring two pillows and one blanket or yoga mat.

What should I expect from the class?

  • Saturday class offers a lunch of taco salad bar, two snacks as well as refreshments.  Our class covers a large amount of information and, as you will learn in our time together, that knowledge is very empowering.   
  • The class will also provide an optional tour of our Labor and Delivery and Mother Newborn units which will begin at 5pm.  
  • Please note that if you are attending the "Getting Ready for Baby" series, you will find that some information will repeated. You are welcome to attend both classes.  
  • You can park in the lot marked “Valet Parking” located directly across from the entrance of the Mansfield Center, You will see a horse statue at the entrance. This parking lot borders North 30th Street. The doors will be locked one the class has started, please knock on the farthest set of windows passed the statute of the black horse if you don't arrive prior to 10:00am.
