Are you looking for a childbirth preparation class that gives you the flexibility of online learning, and the support of in-person connections? This class is for you! Part One of the class is completed in the comfort of your home using InJoy’s Understanding Birth Web eClass. Our Understanding Birth eClass is a unique online learning experience that provides comprehensive information you can trust as you prepare for your upcoming birth. In this class, you will learn all about the birth process and medical procedures through instructive video clips, animations, and interactive games. You will also get a sense of what labor is really like as you watch several birth stories. The eClass provides you with the opportunity to write down notes and questions at your leisure to take with you to Part Two of this class: Classroom Practice. During Part Two a certified childbirth educator will help you apply what you learned as you practice comfort techniques and discuss questions with other expectant women and their partners.

**IMPORTANT: Completion of Part One is required prior to attending Part Two. Be aware that our childbirth instructors will refer to the information in this section throughout class. It is each attendee’s responsibility to come to the Classroom Practice portion of this class having completed your eClass learning. Please be respectful of other class attendees’ time by coming prepared. Refer to our cancellation/reschedule policy below as we may be unable to accommodate late class transfers.

Part Two: Classroom Practice (3 hours in class)

Practice and apply what you have learned in the eClass with other expecting women and their partners. A certified childbirth educator will guide you through comfort techniques, answer your questions, and discuss your concerns. Class covers practicing comfort techniques (breathing, relaxation, massage and touch, positioning, visualization, aromatherapy, and water therapy), and a tour of The Baby Place at Lutheran. 

Registration Information: Once your registration is complete, expect to receive an email from InJoy with your eClass login information within one business day. If you do not receive this information, please contact our office by calling 303-425-2229 or by email, women.secretary@imail.org. You will have access to the class for 270 days once you've logged in.
