Their experience includes working for small and large health systems, hospitals and consulting firms from across the United States. They are dedicated to fulfilling SCL Health’s strategic priorities as guided by our mission, vision and values.

Meet our System Services Executive Team

Michael Slubowski, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mike Slubowski, FACHE, FACMPE joined SCL Health in January 2011 as President and CEO. During his time with SCL Health, Slubowski has led numerous strategic initiatives, including the engagement of the governance, leadership and associates of SCL Health in formulation of a new vision statement; ministry realignment with other Catholic and secular partners; achievement of balanced scorecard goals and the development and implementation of new strategic priorities. Prior to joining SCL Health, he held senior executive management positions with Trinity Health, a multi-state Catholic healthcare system based in Novi, Michigan, and served as President, Hospital and Health Networks. Slubowski is on the boards of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Catholic Health Association and the Catholic Healthcare CEO Connection. He received his bachelor's degree and master’s degree in business administration from Wayne State University.

Michael Taylor, Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer, Hospital Operations

Michael L. Taylor, FACHE, joined SCL Health as Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer, Hospital Operations, in January 2015. He is responsible for the operations, financial performance and strategic alignment of all SCL Health hospitals, and his role includes translating the needs of local sites in the context of a unified system and positioning our regional healthcare organizations for success in dynamic, competitive markets. Previously, Taylor served in a similar executive leadership role with McLaren Healthcare, Dignity Health, and Baylor Healthcare System. Taylor earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and a master’s degree in management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Lydia Jumonville, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Lydia Jumonville joined SCL Health in June 2010, and serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. She has more than 30 years of experience in dynamic integrated healthcare delivery systems. Previously, Jumonville served as Senior Vice President and CFO of Baylor Health Care System, a 21-hospital system in Dallas with more than 450 employed physicians. She has also provided tax compliance and consulting services to real estate and healthcare industry clients of Arthur Andersen LLP, in Dallas. Jumonville earned a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and she is a Certified Public Accountant.

Shawn Dufford, M.D., Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer

Shawn Dufford, MD, MBA, joined SCL Health as Chief Medical Officer in May 2015, after serving as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Saint Joseph Hospital since 2011. Dr. Dufford leads the health system’s quality, safety and clinical regulatory matters across the healthcare continuum, with a focus on our care site operations. At Saint Joseph Hospital, Dr. Dufford was integrally involved in the design, planning and transition to the new hospital, and also provided key clinical leadership for the joint operating agreement between Saint Joseph Hospital and National Jewish Health. Previously, Dr. Dufford served as the Medical Director of Perioperative Services for Saint Joseph and the Physician Director of Performance Improvement for Colorado Permanente Medical Group. He completed a surgery internship and anesthesia residency at the University of Colorado and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.

Geri Towndrow, Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer

Geri Towndrow, RN, BSN, MA, joined SCL Health as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in April 2015, after serving as Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer of Lutheran Medical Center since 2011. She provides strategic direction for nursing quality and safety and leads the implementation of consistent practices throughout the entire SCL Health family. Prior to joining Lutheran, she served as the Vice President and CNO of Patient Care Services at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento, California, and Mercy Hospital Folsom in Folsom, CA. A registered nurse with a master’s degree in organizational management from Webster University in Colorado Springs, Towndrow earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Regis University in Denver.
