Butte, MT - St. James Healthcare would like to congratulate Diane Hayward, RN for receiving the November 2019 DAISY Award for her excellent patient care. The DAISY Award Recognizes Extraordinary Nurses and is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease.

Diane, who is part of the Labor & Delivery Unit, was nominated by a new mother and her family. The letter clearly describes her dedication to helping those in need, “I came to nursing later on in life and I think this kind of work follows my heart,” said Diane. “I appreciate being recognized, but this level of caring is what all nurses at St. James do every patient every day.”

This is Diane’s second nomination and the first time she has received the DAISY Award.
