When you contact our Financial Counseling Department, please have the following information available. The more information you provide, the more accurate our estimate can be.
- Description of service needed - Give us as much information as possible about the specific service or procedure as described by your doctor. It is very helpful if your doctor or doctor's office can give you the procedure code or CPT code for the service.
- Physician/specialist's name - Who is the physician ordering your service? If you are having surgery, who is the surgeon?
Our estimate of the cost of your procedure will be based on the information you provide. Many factors affect the actual cost, including whether the provider finds it necessary to perform more, fewer, or different procedures at the time of service. There may also be radiology, laboratory, pathology, and other services that result in additional charges from providers other than SCL Health or one of our hospitals.
