Saint Joseph Hospital is home to one of the best-rated structural heart disease programs in the Western United States. Structural heart procedures combine the talents of cardiothoracic surgeons and specially trained interventional cardiologists to address structural defects in the heart and valves in patients for whom open-heart surgical procedures are not recommended.

Clinical Care and Services

  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for aortic valve disease
  • Transcatheter mitral valve repair with MitraClip for mitral valve disease
  • WATCHMAN left atrial appendage closure for patients with Afib and an elevated risk of stroke
  • Patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defects (ASDs) repair and closure for patients born with heart development problems
