Louie's Story
Staying active and enjoying the outdoors was important to Louie. But a heart attack during a run almost ended all that – and his life. The diagnosis: an enlarged heart with numerous blocked arteries. Louie’s cardiac care team at Saint Joseph Hospital performed six bypasses. They also started him on his most important activity: the path to recovery. “I’m climbing, I run, I do all the things I love to do. And I’m just enjoying life because I realize how it can be taken away in about a heartbeat.”
