Denver, CO - Saint Joseph Hospital, one of the premier heart programs in the Rocky Mountain region and one of the top cardiovascular hospitals in Denver, has been officially recognized by the American College of Cardiology for its demonstrated commitment to comprehensive, high-quality culture and cardiovascular care. Saint Joseph Hospital was awarded the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence in September based on meeting accreditation criteria and through its ongoing performance registry reporting.

National Distinction of Excellence HeartCARE SealHospitals and health systems that have earned an ACC HeartCARE Center designation have met a set of criteria, including participating in at least two ACC Accreditation Services programs, NCDR registries, and targeted quality improvement campaigns that are designed to help hospitals and institutions close gaps in guideline-based care. Saint Joseph Hospital was previously awarded Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI & Rescuitation and Transcatheter Valve Certification by ACC Accreditation Services and participates in several quality registries.

“Saint Joseph Hospital has demonstrated its commitment to providing the Denver area with excellent heart care,” said Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH, FACC, chair of the ACC Accreditation Management Board. “ACC Accreditation Services is proud to award Saint Joseph Hospital with the HeartCARE Center designation.”

"The HeartCARE Center designation further validates our center of excellence status at Saint Joseph Hospital and recognizes the tremendous efforts of our physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and support services to ensure that our patients get the highest level of heart and vascular care in the Rocky Mountain region," said Glenn A. Hirsch, MD, MHS, FACC, Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at National Jewish Health and Saint Joseph Hospital and hospital-based heart services for SCL Health in the Front Range.

Saint Joseph Hospital serves as the main heart and vascular treatment referral center for SCL Health in the Denver area. By investing in technologies, providers, and patient experience at this long-standing center of excellence, Saint Joseph Hospital provides some of the highest quality heart and vascular care in the Rocky Mountain Region.
