Lutheran Medical Center Foundation launches Circle of Care

After launching the Circle of Care program in December, the Lutheran Medical Center Foundation has had the opportunity to honor several caregivers that received donations on their behalf with a special recognition ceremony.

The Circle of Care program seeks to recognize and celebrate caregivers who work endlessly to provide exceptional care every day. The Foundation has been honored to share the appreciation from grateful patients and their families to our amazing caregivers.

Many times patients contribute financially to support the Foundation because they are grateful for the amazing care received at Lutheran. And many times, these gifts are accompanied by a letter from the patient or family, which indicates their gratitude for the clinicians who cared for them.

The first three ceremonies recognized Lutheran Hospice at Collier Center, Lutheran Heart and Vascular Care and Environmental Services, and Lutheran Medical Center Radiation Oncology. These groups received Circle of Care pins and cookies, including sugar cookies from Cakes by Karen, a local bakery with which the Foundation has partnered, during recognition ceremonies.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our donors and caregivers, helping us make gratitude come full circle. The Foundation looks forward to many more Circle of Care awards!

Lutheran Hospice at Collier Center

A note of gratitude came from the husband of a patient who recently passed away while being cared for at home by our hospice team.

The grateful patient mentioned Jean Meyers, RN, in a note saying, "Jean, please accept our donation on behalf of all of your associates who took care of my sweet wife. She loved to see each and every one that came into our home."

Dr. Bohuslav Finta and the Heart Center staff received Lutheran Medical Center Foundation's first Circle of Care celebration ceremony.

Lutheran Heart Center and Environmental Services

Dr. Bohuslav Finta, a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist, and the Heart Center staff received a donation in their honor from a grateful patient who thanked them for their care during her recent heart surgery.

This patient also wrote an extraordinary letter applauding the housekeeping staff for their daily cleaning, fresh linens and kind gestures during her stay at Lutheran. “The housekeeping staff members represent the values of Lutheran Medical Center well,” she said.

Dr. Tyler Kemmis, Lutheran Medical Center Radiation Oncology

Lutheran Medical Center Radiation Oncology

The Foundation traveled to the Red Rocks Medical Center to visit the relocated office of the Cancer Centers of Colorado – Lutheran Medical Center Radiation Oncology.

Dr. Tyler Kemmis of the Radiation Oncology team was recognized by a patient through a donation made on Colorado Gives Day. Dr. Kemmis and the team embody our values of Excellence and Caring Spirit by providing exceptional care to patients and their families that are facing the challenges of cancer.
