SCL Health requires Colorado physicians and associates to be COVID-19 vaccinated by November 1, 2021

Broomfield, CO - The Delta variant continues to spread across the U.S., and SCL Health is asking all its associates to ensure they do everything they can to protect patients, communities, and each other.
SCL Health requires all Colorado associates and providers, medical staff, contractors, vendors, temporary workers, students, and volunteers to prove COVID-19 vaccination by November 1, 2021. (Because of Montana state law, SCL Health associates working in Montana are exempt from mandatory vaccination. We continue to encourage these associates to get vaccinated.)
Anyone in the Colorado groups mentioned above without vaccination documentation or an approved exemption by November 1 will not be allowed to return to work at an SCL Health facility until they are compliant.
“It is essential that all people in the healthcare workforce get vaccinated against COVID-19 for the safety of our patients and our colleagues,” said JP Valin, Executive Vice President & Chief Clinical Officer of SCL Health. “We care about our patients and the associates who care for them. We ask anyone hesitant to receive the vaccine to consider the numbers. More than 300 million vaccines have been administered in the United States and nearly 4 billion doses administered worldwide, which shows the vaccines are safe and highly effective at preventing severe illness and death from COVID-19.”
Associates who believe they meet the requirements for a medical or religious exemption must complete a form that will lead to a review process. SCL Health does not release nor does it have access to the current vaccination rates of associates.
