For nearly 27 years, Kimberly Phipps has been an instrumental part of the nursing team at Holy Rosary Healthcare and this week, she was recognized as the hospital’s first ever DAISY Award winner for outstanding nurses.
“Kimberly is an exceptional member of our nursing team at Holy Rosary Healthcare. I am thrilled that we are able to celebrate her during Nurses Week with this special DAISY Award recognition,” said Carol Enderle, Holy Rosary Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing & Operating Officer.
Kimberly was recognized for going above and beyond while providing care to a hospitalized patient at Holy Rosary Healthcare. She went the extra mile to make the patient and their family’s stay more comfortable.
“Our needs were always met with a sweet and caring attitude,” mentioned the DAISY Award Nominator. “Thank you for caring for my daughter, so we could rest when needed. You truly made our stay enjoyable and comforting.”
Kimberly takes pride in being a part of each of her patients’ care and recovery journeys. She especially enjoys taking care of newborns. Kimberly exemplifies Holy Rosary’s core value of Caring Spirit, as she always shows a high level of compassion to each and every patient.
“The care that Kimberly, alongside our entire care team, provides has touched the lives of so many in our community,” added Enderle. “Kimberly does a tremendous job in helping us meet the health and wellness needs of the individuals and families in eastern Montana and we are so grateful for her outstanding contributions to our hospital. This award is well deserved.”
The DAISY Award was established in 1999 by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 from the autoimmune disease, Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The Barnes family was awestruck by the care and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this international award to say ‘Thank you’ to nurses everywhere. The award honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care that nurses provide. “DAISY” stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.
Holy Rosary Healthcare recognizes all nurses for the work they do and for the sacrifice they have made in caring for others. The Miles City community and Eastern Montana are fortunate to have such devoted and compassionate caregivers serving this region.
