Terry Native Back in Her Roots Providing Care to Community

Daniel Laci Rob Holy Rosary PTWhen Terry native, Laci Donnelly tore her ACL while playing basketball in high school, she knew that she wanted to someday go into the physical therapy field. From that day forward, she dedicated herself to learning how the body works and what the proper methods are for rehabilitating it.

Rehabilitation therapy can help a wide range of conditions, including simply staying healthy and working to prevent more serious conditions. When you start rehabilitation, you enter a whole new world of learning about your condition and recovery -- and now because of a recent partnership between Holy Rosary Healthcare and the Prairie Community Hospital, Laci is back in her roots providing care to the Terry community that has taught her so much.

Laci spent the greater part of her life living in Terry with her family on their farm and ranch, but moved around several times during her educational journey. After receiving her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, Laci is passionate about providing care to familiar faces in Terry during her weekly outreach.

“It’s nice to go back to my hometown and connect with the people that I haven’t seen in so long,” Laci said “It’s wonderful to work with people in the Terry community because I know who they are and they know my family and I.”

Donnelly and Daniel Markin, another Doctor of Physical Therapy from Holy Rosary, each visit the Prairie Community Hospital once a week. They work with residents in the nursing home and with all ages of patients within the Terry community. Although the Prairie Community Hospital does not have their own physical therapy program, they share the same passion that Laci, Daniel, and the rest of Holy Rosary’s team does -- their patients.

“A lot of therapy practitioners may just specialize in one area, but Laci and Daniel have a wide-range of expertise to provide for most patients’ needs,” said Rob Brugger, Director of Holy Rosary’s Therapy Services. “This provides an even greater opportunity for our eastern Montana communities to receive therapy care, without the burden of travelling.”

Holy Rosary’s team offers several types of therapy services, including cardiac rehabilitation, neurological and stroke rehabilitation, pediatric and orthopedic rehabilitation, rehabilitation for residential living, and much more. For people in Terry and Miles City, Laci and her team are available and ready to assist patients.

"It is nice to have a Terry native back in the community providing great care," said Burt Keltner, Chief Executive Officer of the Prairie Community Hospital. "We are very thankful to have this partnership and are glad to offer this service.”

The Holy Rosary Healthcare rehabilitation and therapy services team wants you to live a functional life and be able to control your pain, so they provide support at every step of care so you feel as good as possible when you get back to your normal routine. Now, because of the commitment of Holy Rosary Healthcare and the Prairie Community Hospital, even more patients can get back to their Montana way of life.
