Fierce Innovation Awards: Healthcare Edition Program Announces Finalists, Lutheran Recognized
WHEAT RIDGE, CO (July 26, 2017) – Lutheran Medical Center today announced that it has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Fierce Innovation Awards: Healthcare Edition 2017, an awards program from the publisher of FierceHealthcare. Lutheran was recognized as a finalist in the category of Data Analytics/Business Intelligence.
Lutheran was selected as a national finalist for use of its innovative, industry-leading product, Biovigil, a hand hygiene monitoring system that was implemented in 2016. Biovigil has increased patient, employee and visitor safety at Lutheran by supporting its work on reducing hospital-related infection rates.
Finalists were recognized in five distinct categories designed to highlight products and services that have the potential to make the greatest impact on savings, healthcare delivery and patient engagement.
They were selected by a distinguished panel of judges from renowned U.S. hospitals and healthcare systems. All applications were evaluated based on the following criteria: care efficiency, competitive advantage, financial impact/value, market need, and overall fierceness and innovation. Applicants with the top 3 scores in each category were selected as finalists.
“Lutheran is on a path to transform healthcare,” said Grant Wicklund, President and CEO. “Biovigil is one of the tools we have adopted that will help us to create a successful future and bring the highest standards of care to our patients. Our vision is being realized through our new Innovation Center and the highly talented and creative people that work here. We are greatly honored to receive this national recognition for doing the right things for our patients.”
Winners of the national Fierce Innovation Award will be announced and published in the Innovation Report on Aug. 28. The full list of finalists is available at: prweb.com/releases/2017/07/prweb14537339.htm.
