The Holy Rosary Healthcare Foundation will be awarding four AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillators) to worthy eastern Montana locations in August 2016. The recipients will be selected based on applications received by August 5, 2016, and then screened and scored based on objective criteria by August 10, 2016. The winning applicants will be notified, the equipment awarded, and training completed by August 30, 2016.
An AED is used on someone who has heart failure. Heart failure can happen to anyone based on health condition or strenuous activity. Most schools and public places have an AED. The equipment is easy to use, allowing almost anyone to use one in an emergency. The Holy Rosary Foundation has awarded AEDs through the Foundation’s community grants program for placement in several eastern Montana locations in recent years. Four modern units will be awarded and training completed at no cost to the receiving organizations.
