Learn to cope with symptoms of mental health, behavioral health, and/or substance abuse concerns in our intensive outpatient program
The Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient program is designed for individuals who are experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties and do not require (or no longer require) the intense level of psychiatric care provided in an inpatient or partial hospitalization program. This eight week group therapy program focuses on improving daily coping skills, establishing safety, and enhancing individual self-respect. Intensive Outpatient patients receive case management support which includes coordination with outpatient providers, insurance utilization review and discharge planning. Family meetings are available upon request and resources for family support and education are also provided.
This program is a highly effective treatment for:
- Bi-polar disorder
- Anxiety disorders
- Personality disorders.
We promote healing and personal growth by practicing dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) techniques such as mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation and distress tolerance. DBT research shows proven success with patients who are motivated to change and improve their quality of life.
The program meets three times per week for eight weeks. Two schedule options are available:
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. – Noon
- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Patients who complete this program are invited to attend a free monthly aftercare group on our campus to promote lasting recovery. There are also several free support groups offered at West Pines throughout the week.
