Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac rehabilitation aims to improve your health, restore your strength and energy and reduce your risk of future heart issues. Our team works with your doctors to tailor a rehab program to your medical needs and personal goals.

What does cardiac rehabilitation involve?

A typical cardiac rehab program lasts four to 12 weeks with three sessions a week. Your plan will be tailored to your condition, needs and interests and will include a mix of:

  • Monitored exercise – We’ll develop a personalized exercise plan that gets you back to a full life and includes activities you actually want to do.
  • Medication management – Our therapists work with you and your doctor to make sure your medication works in coordination with your entire plan.
  • Nutrition counseling – Our dietitians will help create a plan that keeps your heart healthy and your taste buds happy.
  • Education – We provide individual counseling to help you understand your heart condition and follow through on lifestyle changes.

Would I benefit from cardiac rehab?

You may benefit from cardiac rehab if you’ve been treated with certain procedures or diagnosed with conditions such as:

  • Stable angina
  • Heart attack (myocardial infarction)
  • Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery
  • Heart valve repair or replacement
  • Heart or heart-lung transplant
  • Angioplasty with or without stent
  • Peripheral artery disease

We’ll provide cardiac rehab even if you were treated for heart and vascular problems elsewhere. Talk to your doctor about a referral for our cardiac rehabilitation program.
