Senior Services Screenings and Diagnostics
In addition to the regular screenings and diagnostics our doctors perform during regular health checkups, we provide special assessments for seniors that take common health concerns into account.
Multiple health conditions
Comorbidities – where a person has two or more conditions at the same time – are a particular concern for seniors. For example, seniors commonly face simultaneous complications from diabetes, strokes, dementia, cancer and other conditions that can affect what medications or treatments are available. Our team understands how comorbidities can affect seniors and is committed to providing personalized senior care.
Wellness exams
Our geriatricians work with seniors to develop personalized plans to encourage healthy living and healthy aging. This assessment focuses on health conditions that primarily affect seniors. When seniors come to us for care, they’ll receive an in-depth analysis of their current condition and guidance on what aspects of their health to monitor closely in the future.
Cognitive care assessment
Diseases like Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia primarily affect seniors. Part of our senior services screenings include a cognitive care assessment to determine risk and evaluate the brain function to determine whether cognitive care may be needed in the future.
This assessment also will help identify mental health issues that may not be tied to a particular cognitive condition, such as depression.
Osteoporosis screening
Osteoporosis is a bone condition primarily affecting seniors, and particularly women. People with this condition have brittle, fragile bones due to bone tissue loss. Our doctors typically perform osteoporosis screenings during regular checkups.
Cancer screenings
About 1 in 3 men and 1 in 4 women will develop cancer after age 70, according to the American Cancer Society. Because the likelihood of developing cancer increases as people age, it’s important for seniors to receive cancer screenings during health checkups. Detecting cancer early is key to stopping the disease.
