Understanding Childbirth
Your baby will be here before you know it. Empower yourself with accurate information about labor and the birth process during this five week class, plus you’ll learn breathing and relaxation techniques that help you stay focused on delivering your baby. This comprehensive course will also cover information about intervention options, c-sections, breastfeeding, post-partum and newborn care.
Childbirth 101
Designed for first time young moms (age 20 and younger), Childbirth 101 spends four weeks teaching you and your birth partner everything you need to know about labor and delivery. Plus, you’ll gather a ton of information about breastfeeding, medications/intervention options and cesarean births. A tour is also included, so come meet other expecting moms who are exactly where you are.
Childbirth Express
For those who don’t have time for our five week class, this condensed one day course covers everything you’d need to know about giving birth. Topics like common discomforts, relaxation techniques, intervention options and newborn care will all be a part of this fast-paced class that concludes with a tour of the L+D unit.
Birth Refresher
If you and your support partner want to refresh yourself on the birth process, relaxation techniques, internvetion options and newborn care, this class is for you. You’ll get the chance to ask questions, learn what’s new at St. Mary’s Hospital and meet other expecting moms who are growing their families just like you.

CLASSES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Super Siblings Class
Becoming a big brother or big sister is a big deal. Bring your 3-6 year-old to this class for hands-on learning that includes holding a baby and diaper changing. Tots will get comfortable with where their mom will be during delivery, plus they’ll get to take home a scrapbook and t-shirt. The goal is to prepare big brothers and sisters for all the changes that are sure to come with the new addition to the family.
Post-Birth Classes
Breastfeeding takes confidence and isn’t always as easy as it looks. This two-hour class will teach you all the incredible benefits of choosing to breastfeed, while also sharing techniques on how to maintain your milk supply and demonstrate nursing positions that provide the best support for both mom and baby. You’ll leave with the knowledge you need to get off to a great start breastfeeding your little one.
