Trauma Services Outreach

St. Mary’s Trauma Services works with local fire and health departments, Mesa County Safety Council, and schools to design and present various programs, including bicycle and skateboard safety, gun safety, seatbelt use, distracted driving, vaping, and alcohol use.  The programs are developed with the latest evidence-based research to engage our community. 

For Children

  • Firearm safety
  • Choking prevention
  • Sports safety
  • Home safety
  • Emergency access training

For the Elderly

  • Medication error prevention
  • Driver safety

Courses include Advanced Trauma Life Support for physicians, ENPC, TNCC for RNs, and RTTDC for outlying facilities that provide trauma services and Stop the Bleed for interested entities.   

At this time, St. Mary’s does not have programs for EMTs and paramedics, but clinicals are scheduled for students in the ED, OR, RT, L&D, and ICU through approved programs.  The school’s instructor coordinates for dates and times.   We also offer affiliation for our associates for continuing education needed for certifications.
