CMS Hospital Compare Ratings

Several SCL Health hospitals have earned a 4-star or better rating when it comes to patient experience and quality as reported by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). These hospitals include Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, and St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.


Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award®

Our hospitals are continuously rated above national and state averages for patient experience. In fact, Saint Joseph Hospital has received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for patient experience in the past five years, an award that honors hospitals that have reached the 95th percentile for patient experience.

Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

We are proud to have received an 'A' grade at Lutheran Medical Center, Saint Joseph Hospital, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Platte Valley Medical Center, and St. Mary's Medical Center, and St. Vincent Healthcare in Spring 2022. The Leapfrog Group is a Washington D.C. based organization aiming to improve healthcare quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. The Leapfrog Group assigns letter grades based on numerous health care quality measures. 

Nationally Recognized for Nursing Excellence

Magnet Accreditation

Magnet Accreditation is the nation’s top honor for nursing excellence, quality patient care, and innovations in practice. Saint Joseph Hospital, St. Vincent Healthcareand Lutheran Medical Center have received Magnet designation. Only 9.3% of U.S. hospitals have achieved this designation.

Baby-Friendly Hospitals

Saint Joseph Hospital, Lutheran Medical Center, and Good Samaritan Medical Center are all designated Baby-Friendly under the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The initiative encourages and recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding mothers and their babies. Based on the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, this international award recognizes birth facilities that offer mothers the information, confidence, and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies or safely feed with formula.

American College of Cardiology: Chest Pain - MI Registry™ 2020 Performance Achievement Awards

SCL Health is proud to have received multiple Chest Pain - MI Registry™ awards from the American College of Cardiology. This award program was created by the American College of Cardiology to recognize hospitals that have top-level performance in their care of patients while adhering to their specific guideline recommendations.

Epic Honor Roll

Epic Honor Roll recognizes organizations that implement best practices through Epic that certifies excellence in quality of care, patient outcomes, workflow efficiency, and financial performance. SCL Health is 1 of 82 health systems to be recognized with Cum Laude status, the highest designation in the program. 


CHIME's Most Wired

SCL Health has been recognized by The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Digital Health Most Wired recognition certified as level 9, receiving the Performance Excellence Award. CHIME describes level 9-10 as "leaders in healthcare technology who actively push the industry forward." A total of 30,135 organizations were represented in the Digital Health Most Wired program, which included four separate surveys: domestic, ambulatory, long-term care, and international. 


eHealthcare Awards

SCL Health is proud to have received numerous eHealthcare Awards, including the Mark Gothberg eHealthcare Organization Commitment Award.
