SCL Health Medical Group - Center for Brain & Spine is the only facility in Western Colorado providing neurology subspecialty care for stroke and movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and tremors. The clinic provides general neurology services as well.

Our neurologists are fellowship-trained in movement disorders and provide symptom management/treatment for patient’s neurological needs. The neurological services offered to our patients at are designed to meet the unique needs of those we serve. Common conditions treated by our neurologist include:

Treatments

Movement disorder treatments (such as Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, multiple sclerosis, and spasticity) include: botox injections, deep brain stimulation and oral and injectable medications.
Multiple sclerosis treatments include: medications (injection, intravenous and oral), physical and occupational therapies .
Stroke treatments include: medication to control symptoms (such as blood thinners, blood pressure control, lipid control drugs), medications for acute conditions (like breaking up blood clots), radiotherapy, as well as surgical options.
Epilepsy treatments include: anti-epileptic medications as well as certain surgical options.
Headache treatments include: oral and intravenous medications, botox injections and biofeedback
Neuromuscular disease treatments (such as neuropathy, ALS, myopathy, and myasthenia gravis) include: topical and oral medications, botox injections, and physical rehabilitation.

Screenings and Diagnostics

The optimal treatment plan begins with a comprehensive evaluation, understanding of your condition and diagnosis. Our tests include the following:

Imaging studies: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computerized tomography (CT) of both the brain and spinal cord.
Physiological studies: Electroencephalograms (EEG).
Lumbar puncture (also called spinal tap).
Blood tests which can include therapeutic drug levels, tests for antibodies and symptom causing systemic diseases.
Biopsies.
