Originally from outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Rubin wanted to move out west for its beauty and the ability to serve the smaller town populations. He was attracted to nephrology because there is a lot of physiology and math involved and Dr. Rubin likes figuring out the cause and effect for any given problem. Additionally, as a nephrologist, Dr. Rubin get to work closely with many other specialists and patients who require multiple levels of care, ranging from the office setting to the ICU.
“I think it is paramount that a patient feels comfortable and be able to have an honest conversation with their doctor. I think communication is key to allow the doctor to understand the patient’s concerns and for the doctor to be able to communicate with the patient in a clear understandable fashion and answer the patient’s question.”
When not working with patients, Dr. Rubin enjoys cars and tinkering in the garage. He is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with his family.
