Dr. Miklin is an excellent physician. I believe he is the finest I have had in my 84 years, he's is extremely thorough and considerate. I have referred friends to him and everyone is very happy with him and his staff. His assistants are also extremely attentive and efficient...we couldn't be more pleased with him. We've never had a complaint regarding him or his staff. I wish all doctors were as caring and skilled as he is.

Very Good

Dec 11, 2018

My experience with all the "providers" (your word) at the Heart Institute has always been excellent - from registration to nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners. technicians, and doctors has always been exceptional. Unfortunately, I find the hospital administration tone deaf and crass, asking me to complete and sign (no demanding that I sign for the service) forms that ask much more than need be asked, expecting a patient to sign away their rights to allow treatments or medications well beyond the purpose of the visit. In addition, as a patient I am expected to sign and accept responsibility for costs that may not be covered by a third party insurer without ANY attempt to provide prior indication of what the costs of standard exams like an echocardiogram might cost. No other industry expects you to use their services or products without first letting you know - even if it were to be a price range - what costs might be incurred. And as we know, there is plenty of evidence that people wind up confronted with extraordinary costs well beyond there means and expectations. SCL needs to stop putting good, hard working people on the front lines to have to register people or answer questions about those legal and ridiculous forms that cover way more than is applicable to the appointment and health care their "providers" do such a personable and caring job at providing. SCL is way too comfortable perpetuating industry practices that do not offer patients good, reliable information prior to services, essentiall defining patients with health care as the vulnerable party when, in fact, their health care should define their vulnerability. Thus, SCL seems content to hide behind those "providers" and legal documents rather than directly and on a case by case providing information and requesting such information from the patient.
