Dr. Cook is a board certified medical oncologist originally from Indiana. Before pursuing her medical degree, Dr. Cook was in the Army, stationed in Italy, which really gave her the opportunity to explore new cultures and helped broaden her horizons. She then earned a bachelor’s degree from Armstrong State College in Savannah, Georgia, followed by a medical degree from the University of Colorado in Denver. Dr. Cook completed an internal medicine residency at Saint Joseph Hospital and a Geriatric/Oncology fellowship at the University of Colorado Hospital. Dr. Cook pursued a career in medicine because she enjoyed the research associated with medicine, particularly oncology.
One of Dr. Cook’s favorite quotes is from Rachel Naomi Remen and it is how she describes her philosophy of care. “Medicine is as close to love as it is to science, and its relationships matter even at edge of life itself.”
While Dr. Cook enjoys all areas of oncology, her clinical interest is in breast cancer. She is currently accepting new patients.
When she is not at work, Dr. Cook enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, hiking, and playing with her dog.
