Trouble balancing? Experiencing falls? If these describe you or someone you know, you may benefit from our new offering.
The Stepping On program is a 7 week falls prevention program in a group setting and is based on the latest Scientific Research, proven to prevent falls for people 65 and over. The course covers a range of issues, including falls and fall risks, strength and balance exercises, home hazards, safe footwear, vision related falls, safety in public places, community mobility, coping after a fall, and understanding how to initiate a medication review.
Expert presentations on a variety of relevant falls related topics including vision, home hazards, medicines, and bone health. This class is designed for people who are living at home and have experienced a fall or are concerned about falling.
This program is designed for people who:
✔️ Have had a fall in the past year, or have a fear of falling
✔️ Walk independently, may use a cane indoors or out, or a walker for outdoor use only.
✔️ Are cognitively intact
✔️ Live in their own home or other independent living facility
✔️ Are able to speak conversational English
This program is unsuitable for people with memory problems, progressive neurological disorders, and people who are totally dependent on a walking frame.
